About this course
This course is for UNDERGRADUATE students conducting original research, scholarly, and/or creative projects under the mentorship of full-time faculty members. Registration will provide a record of student participation and mentoring by you. Successful completion of the course will be captured on the student transcript via the S/U grade you enter at the end of the semester.
ALL YOUR UG RESEARCHERS should enroll in this course even if they are enrolled in a for-credit research course.
Most faculty should already have a section of RSRC. If one does not exist, please use our online request form BEFORE classes begin.
Courses can only be created for full-time appointed faculty.
Registration Deadline: 3:00PM on Census Day Each Fall, Spring, or Summer (Full Term)
Things you need to know
Once your student has the CRN for your section, they can use our online form (faster) or the PDF form
BEFORE classes begin
- SUBMIT enrollment form (PDF or online)
- COURI will remove department approval hold & notify student
- STUDENT will self-register through Goldmine (add/drop fee may apply)
AFTER classes begin
- SUBMIT enrollment form (PDF or online)
- COURI will add the student to course administratively
NOTE: Add/drop fees are charged for goldmine registrations and are set by the university; not COURI
EVEN IF YOUR STUDENT(S) ENROLL IN FOR-CREDIT RESEARCH COURSES, HAVE THEM ALSO ENROLL IN RSRC 4033.
The course operationally is an independent study course and thus a grade must be entered at the end of the semester.
- Provide disciplinary and professional mentoring
- Submit a grade of Unsatisfactory or Satisfactory
Late grades must be submitted via your department chair.
